Detailed Instructions

Granting Camera & Microphone Permissions

When you first visit Omigle, your browser will ask for permission to use your camera and microphone:

Chrome/Edge: Click "Allow" in the popup at the top of the page
Firefox: Click "Allow" and check "Remember this decision"
Safari: Go to Preferences → Websites → Camera/Microphone and enable for omigle.live
Mobile: Your phone will ask for permission - tap "Allow" or "OK"

⚠️ Important: If you accidentally clicked "Block", you'll need to manually enable permissions in your browser settings. Look for the camera icon in your address bar.

Starting Your First Chat

Once permissions are granted:

You'll see yourself in the video preview
Click the "Start Video Chat" button
Wait a few seconds while we match you with someone
When connected, you'll see the stranger's video and can start chatting

The matching process usually takes just 1-5 seconds. If it takes longer, there might be fewer users online at that moment.

Chat Controls

Toggle Microphone

Mute/unmute your microphone during the chat. Useful if you want to listen but not speak.

Toggle Camera

Turn your video on/off. You can disable video and use text-only chat if preferred.

Next / Skip

Skip to the next random person instantly. Use this if the conversation isn't interesting or if you see inappropriate behavior.

End Chat

Stop chatting and return to the homepage. You can start a new session anytime.

💬 Using Text Chat

Omigle includes a text chat feature alongside video:

Type your message in the text box at the bottom
Press Enter or click Send to send your message
Messages appear in the chat window for both users
You can chat via text even with video/audio turned off

Tip: Text chat is great for sharing links, asking questions, or continuing conversations if audio quality is poor.

💡 Good Lighting

Position yourself facing a light source so your face is visible. Avoid backlighting from windows.

🎧 Use Headphones

Headphones prevent echo and improve audio quality for both you and the stranger.

📶 Stable Internet

Use WiFi or strong cellular data for the best video quality. Close bandwidth-heavy apps.

😊 Be Friendly

Start with a greeting! Friendly conversations lead to more interesting connections.

🔒 Stay Safe

Never share personal info (full name, address, phone, social media). Stay anonymous!

🔧 Troubleshooting Common Issues

Camera/Mic not working?

Check browser permissions (camera icon in address bar)
Make sure no other app is using your camera
Try refreshing the page
Restart your browser if issues persist

Can't find a match?

Wait a bit longer (30-60 seconds) during off-peak hours
Refresh the page and try again
Check your internet connection

Poor video quality?

Check your internet speed (need at least 1 Mbps)
Close other tabs/apps using bandwidth
Move closer to your WiFi router
The stranger's connection might be slow - try clicking "Next"
